From Bare Concrete Shell to Curated Natural Office | Commercial Project in São Paulo, Brazil
Project Overview
Nestled in a premium high-rise in São Paulo, Brazil, this full office transformation showcases our end-to-end soft furnishing solution. We managed the entire journey — from initial space planning and design concept to furniture supply, decor curation and final on-site installation — turning a raw, unfinished concrete shell into a warm, nature-forward hybrid workspace.
Phase 1: The Original Bare Shell
The space began as a standard raw commercial unit, with exposed concrete structural columns, bare ceilings with visible utility piping, and unfinished cement flooring. Its defining advantage was the floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, which offer unobstructed views of the São Paulo city skyline and distant mountain ranges and flood the entire floor with natural daylight. Without functional zoning or interior finishes, the space felt cold and impersonal. Our core challenge was to preserve the incredible views while adding warmth, defining clear work and leisure zones, and delivering a complete turnkey result — with no need for the client to coordinate multiple vendors.
Phase 2: Design Concept & Space Planning
We developed a nature-inspired hybrid office concept, moving away from rigid traditional cubicle layouts to support both focused work and casual collaboration. The layout is organized into three core functional zones:
- Lounge & Reception Zone along the window line, maximizing the panoramic views for client meetings and team breaks
- Central Coffee Bar Hub acting as the social and functional heart of the office
- Open Work Zone at the rear of the space, with quiet, light-filled workstations
Our material strategy paired warm natural textures — wood, rattan, stone and brick — with abundant greenery to soften the industrial concrete shell, and create a seamless visual connection between the indoor space and the outdoor city landscape.
Phase 3: Hard Finish Framework
Before applying soft furnishing layers, we established the foundational material palette to define the space’s character:
- Warm wood-plank ceilings to conceal utility piping and introduce natural warmth throughout
- Polished concrete flooring that retains the space’s industrial character with a refined, easy-maintenance finish
- A custom ribbed wood coffee bar with a hand-laid red brick backdrop and integrated open shelving
- A full-height natural stone feature wall serving as a striking visual anchor on the right side
At this stage, the spatial structure and material identity were fully in place, forming a solid base for the soft furnishing layer that would bring the space to life.
Phase 4: Final Soft Furnishing & Styling
Our team handled the full supply and professional installation of all furniture, lighting, decor and greenery, delivering a move-in ready office space aligned perfectly with the original design vision.
- Lounge Area: A caramel-toned modular sofa, woven rattan armchairs, a natural stone coffee table and a handwoven pendant light create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Layered plants along the window frame the city views and bring the outdoors inside.
- Coffee Bar: Fully equipped with professional coffee machinery, styled with curated tableware and potted greenery on open shelving, it acts as a natural daily gathering point for the team.
- Open Work Area: Solid wood work desks paired with ergonomic office chairs are arranged to give every workstation access to natural light. Statement artwork and large floor plants add warmth and personality to the work zone.
