From Worn Haussmann Interior to Contemporary Creative Office | Commercial Project in Paris, France

Project Overview

This Paris project transforms a sequence of upper-floor Haussmann rooms into a refined creative workplace. Our integrated scope combined heritage-sensitive planning, bespoke furniture development, direct supply and final installation, preserving the apartment's architectural character while introducing the performance and flexibility of a contemporary office.

Phase 1: The Original Bare Shell

The site arrived as a partially stripped historic interior with worn surfaces, fragmented rooms and valuable original mouldings. Tall windows brought soft daylight and framed Paris rooftops, but circulation and services required complete rethinking. The design needed to protect the building's character while supporting a collaborative modern team.

Phase 2: Design Concept & Space Planning

We treated the office as a sequence of connected salons, retaining the original rhythm while assigning each room a clear role.
The space is divided into three core functional zones:
  • Reception Salon — a travertine desk and editorial lounge create a composed first impression.
  • Creative Studio — curved shared desks encourage exchange without overpowering the historic shell.
  • Library & Review Room — full-height oak cabinetry supports materials, references and presentations.
Ivory plaster, natural oak, travertine, aged brass and deep burgundy textiles form an elegant dialogue between old and new. Contemporary furniture remains low and sculptural so the windows, mouldings and room proportions stay dominant.

Phase 3: Hard Finish Framework

Restoration works repaired the plaster ornament, reinstated oak herringbone flooring, integrated lighting into the historic ceiling lines and installed the travertine reception counter with fitted oak storage. Services were concealed wherever possible to protect the rooms' calm visual order.

Phase 4: Final Soft Furnishing & Styling

Our team supplied the curved worktables, task seating, lounge furniture, lighting and restrained decorative collection, completing the office as a coherent working interior.

  • Bespoke shared desks scaled to the proportions of the historic rooms.
  • Integrated oak shelving and concealed equipment storage for a clean daily workflow.
